Periodic structure means that the simulated structure and its fields are periodic in one or two directions. In the FDTD simulation, we only needs to simulate one element of the periodic structure and the complete solution can be obtained by using its periodic property. In this showcase, we use GEMS to simulate a group of lossy dielectric cylinder, which is infinitely long in one direction.
